These preserves transform the juicy, warm fruit into a melt-in-your-mouth delight, spiked with a zest of lime. It reminds us of steamy late-summer evenings, hiding from the sun under the covering of the patio and biting into a peach... maybe with a lime-y cocktail on the side.
This is the sumptuous work of Audra Lawlor, a native of the Pacific Northwest, who now owns a 5-acre plot on Orcas Island, WA. She collaborated with Smallwood Farms on the mainland to get their meticulously grown peaches for this jam session.
Tip of the Tongue:
Just like a warm peach cobbler, these preserves naturally pair with vanilla ice cream (you might want to warm them up a tad). But they would be equally at home paired with some savory coppa. Gift to mom as a way to shake up her morning yogurt or toast or to raise her cheeseboard game.
